Content of this thesis deals with electromagnets as operating elements in electric machines. Thesis is divided in two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes electromagnets as electric machine , usage of electromagnets in electrical devices as operating element. Electromagnets are further divided in groups on basis of different criteria. Next, the theory of electromagnetic fields and methods of assesment of static pull and dynamic characteristics is described. Construction and function analysis of researched electromagnet with permanent magnets, which serves as trigger in compact circuit breaker, is also included in this part. Practical part includes measurement of force quantities of researched electromagnet in different operating states an its evaluation. For analysis of dynamic quantities with finite element method were created two-dimensional and three-dimensional models. Evaluation of analysis follows. After that is described simplified design of electromagnet, based onoperating states of researched electromagnet. This part is closed with comparation between results of analysis and designed values of electromagnets.
Remanent magnetism of electromagnets of DC contactors
Horký, Jakub ; Píška, Jakub (referee) ; Šimek, David (advisor)
The master thesis is focused on a remanent magnetism of electromagnets of DC contactors. In the first part of the thesis deals with the formation of a magnetic field in different kinds of materials, description of their magnetization and sorting. The next part is focused on the principle and history of an electromagnet. Negative effects and remanent induction of the contactor are described in the end of the theoretical part. The second part is a practical part. First, the reaction times were measured on a pair of DC contactors. Using the obtained data, an electronic circuit was designed to minimize the difference in switching times of the given DC contactors.
Electromagnetic levitation
Kondys, David ; Červinka, Dalibor (referee) ; Martiš, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the issue of magnetic levitation. It is divided into two main chapters. The first chapter is focused on a general introduction to magnetic levitation. It describes the types of magnetic levitation, their use and the principle of execution. The end of the chapter is focused on a more detailed description of magnetically levitated MAGLEV trains. It describes the history of these trains, their use and construction. The second chapter is focused on the design of a device for demonstrating magnetic levitation. First, it deals with the simulation of an electromagnetic problem in the FEMM program. In addition, for the selected position configuration of the electromagnet and levitating magnet, it describes the design of the construction of the device in SOLIDWORKS and its manufacture. The result of the work is an attempt to make such a device that can stably keep the levitating magnet in the air.
Electronic Xylophone
Čížek, Petr ; Vojáček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Marada, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and create a working electronic xylophone which could be controlled by a programmable logic controller or by an Arduino based board. The finished xylophone could be used for promotional purposes of the faculty.
Control of Low Voltage Contactor by calculation and measurement
Veselý, Matěj ; Šimek, David (referee) ; Bušov, Bohuslav (advisor)
The bachelor project deals with controlling mean parametres of low voltage contactor by calculation and measurement. Deals more specifically with calculation of the applied electrodynamic forces on the contactor's movable contact, the determination of the minimum compressive force on the contactor's movable contact and the design of the contactor trip system. It also deals with calculation of heating of the current-carrying path on contactor and its following check by measuring.
Design of DC electromagnet
Mayer, Aleš ; Bušov, Bohuslav (referee) ; Šimek, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with electromagnets and measurements on them. There is described the history of discovery of electromagnets, the principle of operation, their construction, and classification according to various criteria. More detailed descriptions of individual basic types are presented. The method of deriving the tensile force calculation is explained for DC as well as for AC electromagnets. There is a detailed description of the design process of a core DC electromagnet, which is then simulated in the FEMM program, and a 3D model with technical documentation is created in the Inventor program. The part also deals with measurement on electromagnets. More precisely, it is a measurement of static and dynamic tensile characteristics, measurement of electromagnets temperature rise. In the next part, transient phenomena and their measurements are explained, namely inrush current and switching overvoltage.

Škoda, Josef ; Hájek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Mach, Martin (advisor)
My bachelor’s thesis is aimed at problematics of lifetime of DC motor. After a theoretical analysis the improvements were designed which can adjust the right position of the brushes and this will also improve commutation and the general properties of the DC motor.
Cell labeling with magnetic particles
Kukhta, Dziyana ; Janoušek, Oto (referee) ; Čmiel, Vratislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the movement of cells labelled with magnetic nanoparticles in the magnetic field in the direction of the magnet. First, it describes two types of magnets: permanent magnet and electromagnet. Then, it is dedicated to magnetic field sensors, magnetic nanoparticles and their incorporation in cells, optical systems for detecting cell movement and the effect of electromagnetic fields on cells. The practical part is dedicated to the incorporation of nanoparticles in cells, the measurement of the magnetic field intensity of a neodymium magnet and an electromagnet, and the methods of electromagnet control. It also describes the effect of electromagnetic fields on fibroblasts and the concentration of nanoparticles on the ability of the labelled cells to react to a magnetic field. The last part is dedicated to the production of a flow chamber, the analysis of the movement of cells in the chamber and the subsequent capture of cells in various magnetic fields.
